Yesterday was difficult: husband left early for Scotland and I drifted through the day going in and out of reality. Body here but mind elsewhere.
I was at the local hospital for a scan and could not understand what the nurses were telling me to do. I had to try to concentrate so hard just to realise that they wanted me to go into a cubicle and get undressed. Hardly rocket science. They asked what was wrong with me! However they were so kind when I explained and although they suggested I went back home and returned another day, we managed to get it all done.
In the afternoon I sat for a while and just drank tea and watched some Desperate Housewives before doing the household jobs. An early night and I fell into sleep so hard.
But better today.
With Husband away for a few days I am planning a good time with the family before I leave for France. Time to get out there and remind myself about living.
So, tonight I and fifteen year old are going out to see RED and then to have a pizza etc at the local entertainment complex. Tomorrow I and ten year old are going to see Despicable Me and out for a pizza etc. On Sunday I hope to meet up with the whole group and go out for something or other, before packing up and setting off on Monday.
The house is empty and quiet but cold: I tried to run the central heating but the boiler will not come on so I have retired to bed with a hot water bottle for an afternoon rest before tonight’s jollifications. I am soooo tired at the moment so I think a quick sleep is really necessary.
Thank you all for your kind and supportive comments once again. I hope to be able to post more entertaining and interesting blogs from Paris for your blogging pleasure! Given the events currently happening over there, it will be a miracle if I even get there. Once there I just hope the lights and heating stay on.
So off to snooze and then party!
So happy that you will be getting out and having some fun this weekend! Enjoy yourself and have fun… I have called ahead to Paris on your behalf…the rather rude Gentleman I spoke to assured me that your heat AND your lights will be functioning during your entire stay! Yay!!! Now…go out and have a good time! 🙂

Rude? I have never met a rude Frenchman or woman! You must have said something idiotic! But thanks for trying.

Yes, this is the kind of things you must force yourself to do right now. Time with loved ones, mindless movies (you don’t have to think or talk), and planning for something you want to do. The Idiot was very kind, I am reassured now that you will be okay on your trip.
One day (or hour, or minute) at a time. It works for almost anything difficult.

I am looking forward to reading your posts and seeing your pictures from France. I hope everything works out well for you.
Since researching my family history a bit I have this desire to visit France again. I have visited twice before, but without knowing that this was once the home of many of my ancestors. I told my younger son I would like us to take a trip to France together in a year or so. He is quite the historian and great fun to have as a traveling companion.
