I reckon its final now. We have one goose and one gander.
The ‘gander’ is bossy, bigger, a different shape, and beginning to get feathers first. We can see real little feathers coming on his wings:
These goslings grow so fast: after their daily bath they now have to dry off on a towel on the floor since they are really too large to both sit on a lap together and preen at the same time.
The gander is the one in between my feet. He is much broader than the other.
They are both anxious to stay close to my feet, both indoors and out of doors: if not beside them, then on them is even better.
For the first time I have seen the gander rush along the surface of the water as if he were practising for ‘take off’ over the water!
I have been thinking of names now that we are sure of their sexes: so brace yourselves! The farm said that they thought they were Chinese Geese, (a type that looks closest to swans): anyway, for that reason, I have decided to call the male gosling Tai, and the female gosling, Chi. Get it?
That produced groans at home, but most other people have been kind about the names. And Theo really likes them:)
thanks the latest bulletin from the menagerie. was getting worried when no post for a while. love the names.

Well, I think the names are great. The male really does look different from the female. I love seeing them. And climbing on your feet-funny!

I think they are good names too. So soft and cuddly and gentle but underneath quite tough!

I am back online and have had some time to catch up on your blog. These babies are just adorable! And I did have a good laugh at their names – somehow they are suited though.

Ah, the babies are growing up quickly. I like the names although I must admit to being disappointed there was no name contest this time! 🙂
